Desulfurization wastewater from power plant

Thermal power plants are main industrial water users, with huge volumes of process water and discharged water. Desulfurization wastewater produced by the wet flue gas desulfurization process has excessive fluoride, COD and heavy metals, as well as many suspended substances, is highly saline and contains a large amount of calcium and magnesium ions, chloridion, sulfate ions, etc., being extremely difficult to treat.

According to the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Energy Conservation, the Environmental Protection Law of People’s Republic of China and related national process water and water discharge policies, thermal power plants are required to optimize process water and achieve zero discharge of desulfurization wastewater. DTRO technology has been included in the Guideline on Available Technologies of Pollution Prevention and Control for Thermal Power Plant by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

Solutions

According to the features of desulfurization wastewater, Sotec have developed two core treatment processes to meet the needs of zero discharge of desulfurization wastewater from thermal power plants in different regions.

Core process I: Recycling zero discharge

Characteristics: salt separation avoids the production of hazardous waste, producing sodium chloride for industrial use.

Core process II: low-cost zero discharge

Characteristics: Use the waste heat from flue gas to achieve low-cost zero discharge.
