On the morning of April 10th, the signing ceremony of "Peking University-Chengdu Shuote Technology Low Carbon Water Treatment Joint Laboratory" was successfully held in the College of Environmental Science and Engineering. Ni Jinyuan, Chairman of Chengdu Shuote Technology Co., LTD., Huang Xingjun, Deputy General manager, Qiu Jianguo, Vice Minister of Science and Technology Development Department of Peking University, Zhu Tong, dean of School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Li Zhenshan, Secretary of Party Committee, Yang Wulin, head of Joint Laboratory and other more than ten leading guests attended the meeting. The opening ceremony was presided over by Li Tianhong, Vice president of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering.

In his speech, Qiu Jianguo made a general introduction to the long-term research and development, achievement transformation and high-tech industry of Peking University.  The construction of the joint laboratory aims to serve the strategic needs of the country, promote technological innovation and promote social sustainable development.

In his speech, Ni Jinyuan first introduced the establishment and development history of Shuote Technology and a series of innovative scientific and technological achievements made by Shuote Technology. Shuote Technology has become a leading enterprise in the field of zero discharge of industrial water in China and is in a leading position in intelligent manufacturing production and national industrial layout. Ni Jinyuan stressed that the establishment of the joint laboratory will help build the core competitiveness of Shuote science and technology, form brand effect, establish an industry benchmark, and contribute technical strength to the realization of the goal of "double carbon".

Huang Xingjun made a comprehensive and detailed introduction to the advantages and disadvantages of Shuote Technology in his speech. He said that Shuote Technology is at the top level in the industry in terms of scientific and technological achievements, and the company has made remarkable achievements in the school-enterprise cooperation with Sichuan University and many other universities, but there are still weak links in the field of basic research. He hopes to work together with Peking University in the future to overcome difficulties, jointly build a strong engine of green development, and cultivate environmental talents in the new era.

Zhu Tong pointed out in his speech that since the reform and opening up, the accelerated industrialization and urbanization process has brought serious water shortage and water pollution problems, energy crisis and global climate change have attracted widespread attention of the whole society, which is not only a challenge we face, but also an opportunity for the development of new technologies. He said that with rich experience in waste disposal and recycling and providing comprehensive solutions to "carbon neutral" environmental problems, the company is leading the industry in technological innovation in water environmental governance. The joint laboratory of Low carbon electrochemical Water treatment Technology will be set up jointly by the two parties, which will contribute to the construction of ecological civilization and sustainable development.

As the person in charge of the laboratory, Yang Wulin first expressed his sincere gratitude to the leaders of Peking University and Shuote for their great support to the construction of the laboratory. He said that the establishment of the joint laboratory is the result of the deep cooperation between the school and the enterprise, and is a bold attempt to practice scientific and technological innovation. The joint laboratory is based on low-carbon electrochemical water treatment technology, relying on the professional discipline advantages of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Peking University and the advanced core technology of Shuotec, bringing together the top scientific research forces of both sides, and strengthening the common bond of deep integration of scientific research and industrial application.
